Most people know that you can use essential oils to greatly improve the health of your skin and hair. But did you also know that you can use essential oils for hair growth as well? There are number of essential oils that can not only make your hair thicker and stronger, but can also make it grow far faster as well. So, how do you use essential oils for hair growth?

Well, the first thing you need to do is pick which essential oils you intend to use for the process. There are a number of different oils that can be used to improve hair growth, but the most common and easiest to obtain are rosemary and sage. Rosemary is one of the safest essential oils to use, though you still shouldn’t use it on a pregnant woman, a child, or anyone with known health issues. Sage is more potent than rosemary, and will cause hair to grow at an even faster rate. Whichever you choose, be sure to remember that essential oils are never meant to be used directly on the hair or skin on their own.

There are two possible methods for getting the essential oils on your hair. The first is to mix the essential oil with a carrier oil, which is an oil that is completely neutral, and does nothing but dilute the essential oil so that it’s not quite so concentrated. You can use anything from olive oil to MCT oil as a carrier oil for this. Once you’ve mixed the essential oil with the carrier oil, simply rub it into your scalp and you’re done.

The other way to do it is to mix the essential oil into your shampoo or conditioner. This method is easy and somewhat effective, but it does have the disadvantage of washing most of the essential oil off of your scalp almost immediately.

So, first you need to choose which essential oil you want to use for hair growth, whether that’s rosemary, sage, or something else. Then all you need to do is either mix it with a carrier oil and apply it, or mix it with your shampoo or conditioner and rinse as normal. Do this repeatedly and you’ll hopefully start to see some results.

Many products designed for lips are made to shine or at most, moisturize. However, to really protect your lips from drying, cracking, peeling, blistering, and hurting, you need something with SPF. Furthermore, a regular old lip gloss will simply not do when you’re faced against the elements of sun, wind, and snow. Lip balms are generally hardier products for this time of year. So keep your lips protected – great for winter use, Spring Skiing, or even at the beach this summer.

My favorite thing to do with my chap lips is use coconut oil. It’s great if you are on the hCG Diet.

Consider the following winter lip balms with SPF:

Burt’s Bees Lifeguard’s Choice

Blistex Renewal Lip Protectant

Aquaphor Healing Ointment

Neutrogena Lip Boost Intense Moisture Therapy

Also, be sure you’re not guilty of the following sins:

Licking your lips frequently (Digestive enzymes and bacteria dries out the skin)

Using allergenic products (Some toothpastes, mouthwash & lipsticks cause chapping)

Taking medicine containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or Retin-A

Wearing “long-lasting” lipstick (which has a chemical that really dries out the lips)

Leaving home without a scarf (which should be used as another buffer from the elements)

It has nothing to do with methane gas that contributes to global warming or explodes when mixed with other compounds. In fact, MSM is a beneficial substance that is found in oceans, rain, and in a living organism’s amino acids taurine, cysteine, methionine and cystine.

This beneficial dietary substance can be taken in amounts ranging from 1500 mg to 10,000 mg per day to treat arthritis, improve the skin’s condition, give a healthy luster to hair, or help nails grow. As with any supplement, results are typically seen after two months of regular use. You can enhance the effects of this supplement by taking Vitamin C concurrently.

Here are some of the ways your skin will improve after taking MSM:|

Helps form keratin, collagen and elastin, strengthening the underlying dermal matrix

Clears out free radicals and impurities

Relieves swelling and inflammation

Softens skin “scales”

Strengthens hair and nails

Accelerates hair growth

Adds luster

Reduces wrinkles

Promotes faster wound healing

“Sulphur is the foundational mineral of all beauty,” writes David Wolfe in his book Eating For Beauty. He adds that, in nature, sulphur is found in MSM and “It creates a subtle luster as delicate as the halo around the full moon on a clear desert evening” (p. 65).

Being in the skin care industry, I’ve noticed pomegranate juice or oil on several cosmetic formulations. You can apply it on the skin either by using the raw fruit or purchase it in a cosmetic cream.

Pomegranates are know to promote healthy blood circulation which helps prevent acne as well as heal it as it regenerates the tissues of the skin. This also helps repair damages skin cells caused from over exposure to the sun or aging. Pomegranate extends the life of fibroblasts, which are the cells that are responsible for the production of collagen and elastin.

There are two methods of availing pomegranate skin benefits, you can either opt for cosmetic formulations or use it in its most natural form. Cosmetic creams use an extract of pomegranate seeds and combine it with an array of other chemical ingredients. As a result, most of the properties are lost due to overprocessing. Moreover, these products are often very expensive and do not produce desired results. The best solution to overcome this problem is by applying homemade pomegranate juice on your skin. Put a handful of pomegranate seeds in a blender to make juice. Strain it and apply it directly on your skin or any affected area. Since, no precessing or artificial ingredients are involved, the properties remain intact. Thus, natural pomegranate juice is the best way to get maximum pomegranate benefits for skin.

You need to use it for a prolonged period of time to actually notice the results. In the meanwhile, you can also get rid of any health problems concerned with digestion or circulation.

If you chose to use products, here are a few affordable ones you might consider.

Though often overlooked, it’s this fine, slightly acidic pH film on the surface of the skin that is responsible for protecting our body from the external environment. The skin regulates our temperature, prevents harmful bacteria from entering into our body, and takes in oxygen. A normal person has a pH ranging from 4 to 6, with 5.5 being ideal. However, this varies with age.

Newborns have a neutral pH of 7, which quickly turns acidic for added protection.

Teens and twenty-somethings have a well-developed acidic mantle and healthy skin.

As we get older, the pH of the skin becomes more neutral, leaving us vulnerable.

People with skin problems or diseases have a pH beyond 6.

Soap is one of the major culprits that alters our skin’s pH, leaving us open to dryness and bacterial growth. For this reason, some people use toners to restore the normal pH of the skin. Another factor for pH regulation is the presence of microflora on your skin (healthy bacteria). Soaps may also kill off some of this good bacteria, so it’s important to invest in skin care products that speak to our unique skin type (dry, oily or combination) and avoid unnatural ingredients like dioxane, isopropyl, BHA, BHT, chloride, and sulfates. The skin is the largest organ in the body – and the one that is most visible – so it’s crucial that we do whatever we can to keep it protected, balanced and healthy.

Acne is caused by so much more than greasy fingers and unwashed faces. What we eat often triggers a flare-up of acne, whether we realize it or not. In fact, the food we ingest is used by our bodies the same way we use medications. Therefore, if medications can impact acne, it stands to reason that food can too. For example, iodine and salt iodide stimulate the sebaceous glands to cause acne eruptions. Foods with a high Glycemic index causes blood sugar to rise, which causes increased insulin production, which causes cell growth in the pores and stimulates oil-producing hormones called androgens – all of which leads to an outbreak of acne. Here are a few acne diet tips to help you get on the road to recovery.

Look for foods containing Vitamin A, Magnesium, Selenium and Zinc.

Get a healthy dose of Essential Fatty Acids (Omega 3).

Eat foods that are low on the Glycemic index like whole grains and vegetables.

Switch to lean protein like dairy and fish

Avoid processed or sugary foods.

Drink lots of water.

Limit the amount of dairy products you consume.

Indulge in occasional dark chocolate and cocoa powder.

Add more fiber to your diet.

Eat foods rich in zinc, which is a natural antibacterial agent.

Most people just live with their flushed skin or try to manage their symptoms at home. Here are 20 quick skin care tips to provide reprieve from this disorder.

Gently clean your skin twice a day to remove oil, toxins, bacteria and residue.

Wash your face using your fingertips and avoid excessive scrubbing.

If you have dry skin, consider using a creamy, low-foaming, non-soap cleanser.

Use lukewarm water on your face, as hot or cold causes flushing.

Wait 30 minutes for the face to dry before applying topical medication (to avoid stinging.)

Men can use an electric razor to avoid irritation caused by dull razor blades.

Avoid cosmetics with known irritants – alcohol, witch hazel, menthol and eucalyptus oil.

Choose fragrance-free and allergy-tested skin care and makeup products.

When trying a new product, test out a small area before applying it all over.

Look for a moisturizer that is specially designed for people with rosacea.

Use a sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher that protects against UVA/UVB, all year round.

Try a sheer, green-tinted primer as a makeup base to minimize redness.

Make sure your foundation and concealer are oil-free.

Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and a concealer that is a shade lighter.

Look into yellow-toned mineral makeup, which does not contain irritants.

Avoid red lipsticks that call attention to red skin tone. Instead, choose neutral tones.

In the winter, cover your face, cheeks and nose with a scarf.

Practice stretching, meditating, yoga and deep breathing exercises to combat stress.

Reduce your intake of alcohol, spicy foods, hot beverages and flare-up triggers.

Explore MSM cream. A new study shows topical MSM is effective in treating Stage I-III.
With all the strange, unpronounceable ingredients in skin creams these days, sometimes it’s good to just go back to the basics. There are plenty of perfectly natural products that can do wonders for the skin, with coconut milk being one of the best examples. Coconut milk has a host of benefits for the skin that you might not be aware of.

The great thing about Coconut milk is that it’s extremely high in fat, which makes it the perfect cleanser to use on the skin. Most of the dirt on our skin consists of various oils and other fat-soluble materials. This is the reason that you can’t shower with water alone and expect to truly get clean; oils only really want bind to other oils. Since Coconut milk is high in fat, it will easily pick up all these fat-soluble particles, leaving your skin clean and fresh, but not completely dried out afterwards.

There are also a number of other additional benefits Coconut milk and bring to your skin. Coconut is full of antioxidants, and is also thought to be possibly antibacterial in nature. Those with acne especially can benefit from these possible antibacterial properties. Those with dry skin greatly benefit from its moisturizing effects.

If you do decide to buy coconut milk for your skin, there are couple things you should know first. The first thing is that if you intend to buy an actual can of pure coconut milk, you should make sure that coconut milk is really the only ingredient. Make sure that it hasn’t been diluted with water or had preservatives added to it. If you buy a premade coconut milk beauty product, make sure that coconut milk is not only listed in the ingredients, but that it’s also somewhat high on the list. Ingredients are sorted by amount, so if coconut milk is near the bottom of the list, that means that the product hardly contains any real coconut milk.

Whether you go for a premade beauty product or real coconut milk, the key to seeing the benefits is consistency. Either cleanse with coconut milk every day or use the premade product as often as recommended. Eventually, the changes in your skin should become clear.

Here is a great <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Pure-Fiji-Milk-Bath-oz/dp/B000PHVV7Y/ref=sr_1_14?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1301502522&sr=1-14/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=beauty&qid=1301507618&sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1301507546&sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=beauty&qid=1301506881&sr=1-2/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=face4life-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B003VNKNEG" target="blank">Coconut Milk Bath Soak for a great relaxing bath.

Top with Pure MSM lotion for super smooth skin.
